The PS6 and PS8 are unique and proprietary low-temperature firebricks (up to 1050°C) developed by IFB Refractories.
PS firebricks are used as the final layer of exterior insulation, often positioned just before the metal casing of the kiln.
The PS series represents the historical product line of IFB Refractories, named "PS" after the company's former name, "Produits Silicieux."
Crafted from siliceous clay containing 82% SiO2, these firebricks are made from materials sourced from IFB Refractories' historic quarry, located just a few kilometers from the factory in central France, which is still operational.
Why is the PS series so special?
For several reasons: it has a simple formula, uses locally sourced raw materials with guaranteed availability, has a low environmental footprint, offers good thermal conductivity, and is competitively priced.
